Those are a lot of oranges. This painting took forever! It depicts a market in Burano, Italy -- a fishing village where every building is painted a vibrant, impossible bright color (crazy blue on the building) -- so that the fishermen could navigate their way back home. I used Pthalo or Winsor Blue in combination with French Ultramarine.
