One slightly warmer day -- right before snow was due -- I set up my easel at Kidwell Farm, a working dairy farm as park in Herndon, VA. Many of the animals were huddled together. Slightly warmer didn't mean warm. These two bunnies were no different.
The biggest hurdle to painting is seeing. In this case, that challenge was great ... as the bunnies matched the mat underneath them, the inside of their cage and each other. Camouflage, definitely. Even more trying was being able to peek through the mesh screen.
My different choice of surroundings in the painting treat you to a better view.
I'm getting ready for a five-artist exhibit of Animal art to be held at Herndon ArtSpace this Summer. "Bunnies" might be part of that exhibit -- assuming they aren't snatched up by someone beforehand. (A strong possibility.)
