Fruit Tropics

I was being photographed in my studio for a book project on artists and their studios. This was in the midst of having company, just returning from Mountain Maryland Plein Air. My studio was a mess (not good) and I needed something new to start for the photo shoot. I'd never painted coconuts before and thought the whites might be interesting. I also had never opened a coconut. Fortunately, Randy was there to save the day.

The hydrangeas are from my garden where they are beautifully blooming.

Even though it is a little different for me (palette/subject), I really like the result. Calming?
