Old Sycamore (International Country Club, Fairfax, VA)

I spent multiple windy afternoons painting this plein air with my easel tethered to a sign post near the entrance of International Country Club in Fairfax VA. My husband's belonged there since he was a kid ... and I'm a rarely seen entity there. Thus, I had to answer quite a few inquiries about my presence on the property.

Randy and I walked many times to lunch there leading up to my painting sessions ... and this tree called to me, big time. It really seems to reach to the sky, out and everywhere. Visitors to my painting spot estimated the Sycamore to be 180-plus years. What a beauty.
