Day At The Ranch

"Day at the Ranch" was painted on a rare overcast day during En Plein Air Texas 2016 on a private ranch.  I'd pretty much chosen this spot upon first seeing it but drove around the ranch to "make sure." By the time I got back, the white pickup truck and its owner -- artist Tim Oliver -- were on the scene. I asked Tim how long he thought he'd be there (he was painting behind the truck) and then whether he could leave his truck's door open. Yes, he'd be there for awhile and yes, the door would remain open. That white truck with open door was in both Carl Bretzke and my painting from the day.  History.
