Garden Subjects

"Garden Subjects" was painted in the Saturday, June 10 Quick Draw (one-and-one-half hours) at the Bucks County Plein Air Competiton -- and awarded an Honorable Mention by judge Alan Fetterman.  Tough competition! (50 juried plein air painters.) Close to impossible timeline. I'm happy to  have survived.

Actually, I loved this painting from concept to completion.  I spotted Simon Mauer from Southampton PA, a well-dressed plein air painter (how do those two attributes go together?) getting set up for the quick draw and couldn't resist.

Painting in progress in the garden behind the Tyler Mansion at the Bucks County Community College Newtown campus.
