Ayres Hall Sunset (University of Tennessee)

This may have been the fastest I've ever painted. After spending all day painting "Waiting for the Next Run" of the well-worn Chevrolet in the University of Tennessee Gardens, with about one hour of remaining sunlight, I tackled this view of Ayres Hall from the bottom of the steps.  That hour was filled with enthusiastic thumbs ups ... a good sign.

While I don't remember her exact words, one student told me how honored she was to be a student at this university -- pointing up to Ayres Hall.  That comment, her sentiment spoke volumes. About the school and about her.  Life lessons happen all the time while standing still.
