Cotton Balls

Painted plein air in New Bern NC for the NC Plein Air Festival.

I came down to this spot -- a short distance from our host family.  There were countless possibilities for paintings including the sailboats that went by while setting up my easel and a tree just hanging on at the water's edge.  But, by the time I picked my exact location to set up my easel, all the magic was up above.  So capturing clouds became my mission.

I sold this piece but you could convince me to paint something similar.  Clouds might just be one of my new favorite subjects.
