Six Grandkids

The grandmother of these six kids (from three families) approached me during a demo I was giving at the Art League during my "Place Settings" exhibit. She'd read about me and seen my work in the newspaper, and just knew I was the one she wanted to capture her grandkids at the age that they still were all ... kids. This collaboration was wonderful from beginning to end, and the reveal was one of the most memorable moments in my life. It was just the two of us -- grandmother and me -- and we both were in tears. She was speechless, something she said didn't happen very often. When she was able to talk she said this was the one "thing" that they were all going to fight over after she was gone.

I feel so incredibly fortunate to be able to bring true joy to people ... whether they are commissioning a portrait or purchasing a piece of art to make a part of their daily lives.
