Fresh Bread

Painted during Paint Herndon! plein air competition and exhibit, "Fresh Bread" won first place. I sat on the brick sidewalk for about six hours one day and another hour and a half the next afternoon. While painting the scene, a conversation turned into an offer for Greg and his dog, Kelsey to sit for "Fresh Bread." That's what I've always wanted to have happen ... and this is the first time it did.  How lucky is that?

Greg and his wife Betsy came to the awards reception on Saturday night to witness my winning first place. He got a kick out of  being part of my art-making and wrote a great email to me that our encounter encouraged him to pull out his paints and sketchbook and get back into something he enjoyed in the past.

Serendipity visits often. This was one of those times.
